DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was wondering if any of your readers have had an experience selling a 100-plus-year-old home. Does anyone have a recommendation for a broker that specializes in old homes? — No name, no town
ANSWER: This should bring in many responses from Sun Spots Land since there are so many older homes in Maine. I’m ready for my inbox to fill up!
Meanwhile, you can inquire about Realtors who are familiar with your area and ask other questions by going to The Maine Association of Realtors at https://www.mainerealtors.com/ or call 622-7501.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you know of anyone in the area who accepts used and unused greeting cards? I have many to donate and would be willing to ship them to them. They can contact me through my e-mail at [email protected] No name, no town
ANSWER: I’m putting this out into Sun Spots Land in the event a senior center, child care center, or a crafter would like these cards.
You can also send them to St. Jude Children’s Ranch Recycled Card Program, 100 St. Jude’s St., Boulder City, NV 89005.
Send only the front of the cards. The children make new cards to sell to make money for the ranch. It’s a good way to repurpose them.
Hallmark, American Greetings, and Disney cards are not accepted due to copyright laws. You can also donate new cards with or without envelopes. For more information, call 1-702-294-7100
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Would you have information for someone who would pick up leftover garage sale items?
I’m also looking for a person or organization where I can donate a desktop computer. — Pauline, no town
ANSWER: This really depends on what you have. If you are just looking to get rid of all the leftovers, you can call O’ Brien Property Services (http://obrienpropertyservices.com/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=referral.) The number is 615-6584.
The Dump Guys (https://www.thedumpguy.com/) is a company I’ve used. They will haul all your stuff away. The number is 450-5858.
Another option is Convenient Junk Removal, (http://convenientjunk.com/, 417-1962).
Before you do that, you could just put out a FREE sign and leave the leftovers for 24 hours if that’s possible and of course, weather permitting. You’ll be amazed at what gets taken.
For your desktop computer, you will first want to be sure …….
