Six teams from around the country are taking on a big challenge – to buy, renovate and rehome as many houses as possible in new Channel 4 property show, George Clarke’s Flipping Fast. Whoever makes the most profit, will keep £100,000, in the series, which is hosted by George Clarke himself, read more about him here, and Scarlette and Stuart Douglas.
The first episode, which aired on Wednesday (May 25) sees married couple Gordon and Pamela fall considerably short of winning the first round of the competition as the profit made on the property is drastically smaller than needed.
Gordon and Pamela are working together on their first property whilst living in their caravan. The pair, who are from Norfolk, decided to buy a house that they have never seen in person – 200 miles from their home. The house is in a village called Fishburn, near Stockton on Tees, where prices have dropped by 11% in the last year. The couple paid £52,500 on the house and plan to spend £6000 on renovating it.
Upon seeing the house for the first time, Gordon said: “That looks like a lovely little village.” According to host George Clarke, the couple broke the “cardinal rules of developing” – not researching the area, not viewing the house and failing to get a survey for the house.

After a week of hard work, Pamela baffles George by telling him that the couple have already bought a second place to work on, priced at £32,000 and hence, their budget is “tight”. But will their fast second purchase pay off?
The answer? No. Later in the episode, it is revealed that the couple have to pull out of their second property due to “structural problems”. Meanwhile, worried about their “tight budget”, the couple weigh up whether to get a second-hand kitchen in their Fishburn property for a quarter of the price of a new one of £1000. Gordon simply said: “£1000 could make the difference between winning the competition.”
As work continues, Pamela tells viewers that …….
